Dhule Pattern of Copy Free Campaign

    Publish Date: March 16, 2025

The board examinations of 10th and 12th are starting from 11th February 2025 and will continue till 17th March across the state. Every year, during the examinations, illegal copying is seen everywhere in most places across the state to a greater or lesser extent.

In this regard, conducting ‘copy-free examinations’ is always a challenge before the administration. Systems like revenue squad, police squad, sitting squad, flying squad are currently working to take action on cases of copying related to the examination. However, since the examination is for a period of more than a month, it has become challenging for the administration to provide so much manpower from all departments on each day of each examination paper.

In this regard, Shri Vishal Savita Tejrao Narwade, an IAS officer of the 2020 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, has prepared a new model for conducting copy-free examinations.

For this, a state-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Secretary Smt. Sujata Saunik Madam. The meeting was attended by the District Collectors, District Superintendents, Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishads, Secretary of the Education Department, Education Commissioner, Director of the Examination Board from all 36 districts of the state. Suggestions and best practices were sought from the field level officers. Accordingly, the Chief Secretary praised the use of technology and ordered the implementation of the Vishal Narwade pattern for copy-free examinations across the state this year.

What is the Dhule pattern of the copy-free examination campaign:–

In this model, the Zoom technology platform is used in audio-video mode. At the district level, a centralized Zoom meeting is created. That link is sent to all the examination centers and all the examination supervisors. Each supervisor is expected to participate in this meeting by turning on the camera from their mobile.

Mobiles are kept silent and muted to avoid any disturbance to the students writing the examination.

Mobiles are kept stationary in the classroom at such a place so that all 25 students writing the examination can be seen in that examination room. Thus, all the examination centres and all the blocks/classes in all the examination centres are covered in live video recording mode.

If anyone is found copying in the examination, the district level host unmutees and gives audible instructions to the entire district. Thus, effective supervision is ensured on all the examination supervisors.

Advantages of this innovative model of Dhule pattern: –

    1. 100% transparency is ensured while conducting the examination.

    2. No additional administrative manpower is required, as the responsibility is already given to the existing examination supervisors.

    3. No additional government expenditure is required. It does not involve any cost.

    4. It is also easy for the administration to monitor.

    5. Responsibilities of the police team, revenue team, education team are reduced.

    6. Positive attitude towards the examination and thus honest students are motivated to study.

    7. It is easy to create replicas to monitor any other examination.
